HIGH OUTPUT LINEAR ACTIVATION SYSTEM
The EAW LA 325 is a full-range, high output, true 3-way loudspeaker system consisting of 2 speaker "boxes"
each with 2 x 15 inch direct radiating Low Frequency cone transducers, 2 x 6.5 inch midrange cone
transducers and 1 x 2 inch compression driver on the high frequency Elliptic Conical waveguide horn. The
speakers are seen in the photos above being "flown" using Vermette Speaker Lifts/stands. Flying or
hanging speakers is the only correct way to focus and maximize sound coverage. These EAW speakers
come with the EAW electronic crossover rack mount processor, custom made padded speaker covers (hand
made by an avionics upholsterer), and custom designed ATM FLYWARE rigging for hanging.
I first heard these speakers after recording a CD. In the recording process I "auditioned" several local
recording studios where I heard several state of the art near field recording monitor/speakers. When I first
heard the EAW 325s I was standing well over 100 feet away from them in an equipment store. I looked
around on the counter for a set of near field monitors, when I learned I was hearing High Output Speaker
System in the back of the store (at a reasonably low sound level) I couldn't believe my ears!
