PROFESSIONAL ELECTRICAL TIE IN SYSTEMS
We have all done it, chased down an annoying hum or buzz
in our sound systems. Adding and lifting grounds, pulling
entire components, changing out unshielded for shielded
connections, the list goes on. If you have kept your head and
followed the circuit (from microphone to speaker) you came
to the conclusion your problem was with house electricity. For
some of us geniuses it occurred to us about the time the
houseman changed the dimmers on the house lights and our
buzz changed with the light level. It isn't always that simple.
Professional lighting systems (the kind used for major acts)
have the ability to introduce electrical noise into the sound
system, so do coffee makers, ice machines, air conditioners
and just about everything a musician wants to plug in on
stage (you name it). Your best bet to avoid these problems is
to tie into a dedicated electrical line/box/circuit. In many
facilities this requires a house electrician and you better be
sure your client is prepared to pay the charge. The system
shown can be attached using a basic Allen wrench or with the
clamp on tails. I've installed it myself 9 out of 10 times. The
cleanest electricity came direct from the pole and the dirtiest
came from a paid connect in a high class hotel. Their
electrician had no idea what was on the dedicated circuit
(turned out to be an ice maker on another floor). IN
ESSENCE IF YOU CAN HEAR ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICE
HUM OR BUZZ IN YOUR SOUND SYSTEM (not by
microphone) THEN YOU CAN BENEFIT FROM ISOLATING
YOUR AUDIO SYSTEM ELECTRIC as much as design will
allow.

CAUTION
This is a professional tool to be used by professionals. Any time you are working with
electricity there is a potential for danger. The one thing to remember while connecting this
unit is GREEN = EARTH GROUND, BLACK = POSITIVE, WHITE = NEGATIVE
You'll want to confirm your facilities wiring meets code and matches the color scheme.
If in doubt I recommend hiring a qualified electrician (at least for hook up).
CUSTOM MADE SYSTEMS START AT $1200.00
BUILD YOUR OWN
You certainly can build your own electrical tie in box but I do
strongly recommend against it. Above are two views inside the box.
These boxes are made with the best craftsmanship and have passed
countless fire department inspections.
